Welcome!

Hi! I’m Emily Beaversen, the founder of So Simple Organization. I’m so glad you’re here.

If you’re struggling with organization, I can relate. I was the kid with a messy room who never put her dishes away. By my late twenties, my apartment was literally stuffed. I had a ceiling-height cabinet bursting with paperwork, bins of extra clothes in every empty nook around my house, and a hallway lined with books.

Then, while housesitting for a friend-of-a-friend, I experienced what it was like to live in a clutter-free environment. I felt calmer, more focused, and happier when I wasn’t surrounded by piles of clothes and dirty dishes. I decided to declutter my own home.

I started with my clothing and eventually moved through paperwork, books, storage spaces, and my kitchen. It took me years of effort and thousands of dollars to get rid of things I no longer wanted. But it was worth it. Because I realized that getting organized had a positive effect on so many aspects of my life beyond the way my house looked — I procrastinate less, I spend less money, and I have more time for the things that are important to me.

Today, I am a proud member of the National Association of Productivity & Organizing professionals (NAPO) and have Level I Certificates of Study in ADHD and in Chronic Disorganization from the Institute for Challenging Disorganization (ICD). I started So Simple Organization in 2019 to make it easier for other people to experience the benefits of organization.

A bit more about me personally: I’m originally from the Pittsburgh area and moved back after living in the San Francisco Bay Area for many years. I’m also the mom of two young kids, have a rambunctious Alaskan husky, and love running, hiking, and dancing.
